AI video editor
that works inside your NLE
EditAssist is a local-first AI video editor that operates DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, After Effects and Final Cut directly. Describe the cut in plain English and it searches every frame, builds timelines, matches colour, and delivers to spec. Your footage never leaves your machine.
Workflow
You describe the outcome in plain English and EditAssist translates that into precise NLE commands. It indexes every frame and transcribes every word locally, so you can search terabytes of footage by description, transcript, or visual content. The agent builds rough cuts from scripts, director notes, or transcripts, then colour-matches, syncs audio, and delivers to spec.
Everything runs on your own GPU. Transcription, vision analysis, semantic search, and clustering are all local. The only data that leaves your machine is the text of your conversation with the agent. It's free to download, local models are free, and a new account starts with £15 of credit and no card.
Prompts
“Build a rough cut from today's interview footage, colour-match to episode 3, and sync the external audio.”
“Create a 90-second highlight reel from yesterday's shoot, set to the temp score.”
“Find every close-up of the lead actor across all three camera angles.”
“Pull all B-roll of the city skyline and arrange by time of day.”
“Detect every jump cut in the interview and smooth them with cutaways from the B-roll.”
“Match the colour grade from the reference still across the entire timeline.”
“Sync the boom mic and lavs to the A-cam, then flag any clips with audio drift.”
“Conform the offline edit to the 6K camera originals and flag any relinked mismatches.”
Features
Semantic footage search
Every frame indexed and every word transcribed. Describe what you need and the agent finds it across terabytes in seconds, with no manual logging.
Autonomous assembly
Rough cuts from transcripts, scripts and director notes. You describe the cut and it builds the timeline, including multi-cam sync from scratch.
Colour & audio
Match grades across clips, normalise loudness to broadcast spec, and auto-sync sound to picture with drift detection.
Conform & delivery
FCPXML, FCP7 XML and CMX3600 EDL interchange, plus 32 delivery specs covering Reels, TikTok, Shorts, broadcast and DCP.
Local-first
All transcription, vision analysis, semantic search, and clustering run on your own GPU. Nothing about your footage is uploaded. The only data that leaves is the text of your conversation with the agent. It's free to download, local models are free, and a new account starts with £15 of credit and no card. For long-running cloud work, pay as you go, or choose £20/mo Starter or £100/mo Pro.
